Queer joy picnic - June 8th 2025

There's a lot going on in the world right now that makes us sad and angry. This is especially true when thinking of our trans family. We wanted to do what we can to help our local queer community in the best way we know: by throwing a big gay picnic on our flower farm.

It might not be much, but joy is transformative and we can provide a little bit of that. We get so much peace and joy from being around the flowers (and plenty of stress - let's be honest - but you won't have to worry about growing them!). We want to take this opportunity share that with folks who might not usually get the chance.

What to expect

We'll have a tent set up in the field with some drinks, nibbles, and good tunes. Feel free to bring a dish or drink of your own and make it a bit of a pot-luck! We'll do our best with our gay weather-control powers to make sure it's a sunny day. Failing that we'll have under cover spaces available. 

You'll be able to explore the flower field and soak up the beauty of your surroundings. If you feel like cutting a few flowers to take home, we'll set you loose with a pair of snips (and a bit of guidance!). 

Logistics

When: Sunday June 8th 2025 from 12:00 - 15:00

Where: we are based in Betws Bledrws, on the Tregaron road out of Lampeter. Full directions to the farm will be sent when you register.

Price: we are a small, young, business so do need to be able to cover our costs. But we want this to be as accessible as possible, so we are offering a pay-what-you-can sliding scale. Even if you chose the free option, please book so we know how many folks are coming!

Parking: this is our main limitation to how many folks can come. We can accommodate a max of 6 cars. Please car-share if possible. If you want to come with friends, just book a place for the car full.

Accessibility: We are a working flower farm on a relatively steep, often uneven, Welsh hillside. Folks will need decent mobility to get around.
